Autosuggestion Positive Singles Take Note.
I am frequently asked to share this true autosuggestion you can’t win if you don’t enter story, as a keynote speaker for womens seminars and conferences.
I hope you enjoy it as much as I still do in the telling of it.
Clarity. Before it was common for families to own home computers, I knew that a computer would be of great value for my growing girls and their education, not to mention for my class preparation work. A positive thinking college professor, I was also writing a nursing textbook, by hand, with the rough drafts going to a paid typist editor. At the time, as a positive single mom however, I could not yet afford to buy a personal computer, even if I had known how to type. I was a science nerd or nerdette, in high school and was in the chemistry lab when my girlfriends were in typing class.
Opportunity The technology department of my college was raffling off used computers at the main campus across the city, a half hour drive away. A full system computer and four other lesser models were to be raffled. In classic law of attraction strategy, aka, Decide, I was determined to win one, and not just any one, but the big one… the one with the printer.
Action Intent on winning, I launched an all-out autosuggestion plan. I cut out a picture of a personal computer and photo copied it many times. I stuck this little picture everywhere in our house, including on the fridge. Next I talked to my daughters all about how great it would be to win it, and I told them to imagine us winning it. I got us all involved in reaching the
Knowing
feeling. I also added the words “Win Me” to the pictures.
On the day of the draw, my dozen or so overworked colleagues and I had procrastinated and not yet deposited our tickets in at the other campus across the city! I collected the tickets from each of my coworkers, drove across town just in time for the big event, and found my way to the contest room. Many witnesses were there and because I had a stack of them, every ticket was verified by the contest organizer before it was dropped into the drum. The drum guy turned that thing over and over, many many times, to ensure our bunch of entries did not take up a prime spot.
Ta Daaaa...! As I was chatting with a friend, the draw took place, and sure enough, I was the winner of The Big One! With the onlookers shaking their heads in disbelief, off I went, taking the computer and printer home to my girls that day.
In no time, I was learning to type, and completed my first book, a nursing study textbook. My daughters were soon little home computer wizards, and my eldest actually ended up doing a lot of typing for me over the years.
