Why Wouldn't I Apply Law of Attraction Thinking Skills as Fitness Tips?
What if you could incorporate two key fitness tips top female athletes use, and improve your level of health significantly?
Study after study has shown that psychological skills training is key to performance, ongoing motivation and success in general health for female athletes. In sports, positive thinking, or law of attraction strategies taught include:
1. imagery
2. self talk
3. the management of stress and anxiety
4. thought stopping
5. goal setting
6. concentration
7. confidence
We will highlight each of these with some specific ways any woman can apply these fitness tips in day-to-day life. Notice that in the 7 strategies above, I didn't mention diet or exercise? The last thing you need is one more expert telling you Just burn more calories than you eat, and you'll lose weight! You already know this. However, if you know even the very basics of effective positive thinking, you also know that there is something central to your wellness that you could be doing, mentally, to help your health move in the right direction... and stay there! Let's start with Imagery.
Fitness Tip 1. Imagery. How to Visualize Your Fitness Desires
Most women have strong visual thought patterns and habits... not all positive, and very different from men's thought patterns. We think in pictures. We love beautiful things. We learn more easily when pictures are included in the teaching strategies, or when we can see the end result. A simple and effective law of attraction tip female athletes use, is that of posting pictures of their goals at home and in their offices or training centers. Observing visual cues about what you want will in fact, subconsciously register that desire in your mind. Fitness Tips for Imagery:
A. By placing inspiring pictures of your health goal where you see them frequently, you will also be prompted to think about, daydream, and Energize your desire.
B. The law of attraction is automatically at play: events, helpful people, and resources become accessible, ideas pop up, greatly increasing your chances of success.
Note: Successful companies use visual cues in their offices and factories, effectively keeping everyone focused on the same desires and overall goals. Professional athletes, astronauts and cancer patients are all taught to visualize the desired result, in order to maximize their chances of success. Though the managers, coaches or health care providers may not be using terminology such as Hey! Try this fitness tip: use the law of attraction to help with your goal!, they are in fact helping us do exactly that.
Fitness Tip 2. Scripting 101
Female athletes are taught to improve their imagery skills by developing scripts. How this works as a fitness tip, is as follows:
Scripting: Many years ago, while developing a business venture I was working at for secondary income, I was taught a scripting technique at a motivational seminar. At the time, the term law of attraction was not common. The technique taught to us was to imagine our perfect day, and to write it all out, in great detail. This seemed difficult to initiate at first. But then, it was as if we just could not write fast enough to keep up with our pleasurable and motivating thoughts.
Fitness Tip: Healthy thinking is part of co-creating the life we are living now, and will live in the future. By thinking in a clear, vivid, positive manner, natural to women, those things you think about will begin to move towards you.
The fitness script you are writing down today will probably look different from the one you will write down a few months from now. Our desires are continually and wonderfully evolving. This is a good thing, and propels us forward to better and better lives. We are continuously tweaking and stretching our dreams, wants and desires, as we strive for greater joy and personal freedom. Scripting is a powerful tool to get you into Knowing mode. It will enable your servant brain to work on things you want, without having the doubt obstacle in the way. After all, you are just pretending, right? Fitness Tip: The funny thing about pretending is that it is just one more way to give something attention, energy and focus.
How? Get yourself a beautiful notebook or journal. Use a pen and colour you enjoy writing with. Do your fitness scripting when you can be alone, undisturbed, if at all possible. Fitness Tip - Law of Attraction key: Scripting will produce good feelings... very important. Plan to have about fifteen to twenty minutes to enjoy your scripting time. Pour yourself a cup of tea, fresh water or coffee. Go to a comfortable place, where you feel physically at ease. You may even enjoy this at the coffee shop or library. This example is a powerful one. You will now write about what your perfect day would be like if you had unlimited health and fitness. Enjoy!
Step 1: Close your eyes and take 4 deep and relaxing breaths.
Step 2: Begin by writing in the following style:
I am getting up at _________ (time), after an excellent and restful sleep. I enjoy my day, as I __________________________ (Describe all the details of your perfect healthy day. Do you start with a luxurious bath or a refreshing shower? Include comments about what you and your fit body look like. What are you wearing? What size is it? Are you having breakfast? What are you eating at each meal? Drinking? Describe your exercise activity. Is it a 30 minute walk in the park? A workout on your home exercise equipment or at a gym? A wheelchair exercise session?)
I go about my day _______________________ (Describe all the healthy activities you would engage in that day... include pleasant relaxing activities, laughter, healthy workplace elements, etc... )
Fitness Tip for Imagery: This should go on for several paragraphs or even pages. Include people, places, events you will have, perfect for women, in your most fit state. Your day could include achieving a fitness goal, leisure activities, or perhaps a healthy workplace activity, or maybe sports and the beach. It is whatever makes you feel good to imagine as part of your perfect fit day.
Continue: My evening is thoroughly enjoyable as I____________________________ (Describe all the wonderful components of your perfect evening, in your fit healthy body, in great detail, including your meal, bedtime rituals, ideal sexual activity, etc…)
Step 3: Now just relax and complete your scripting by taking 4 deep and relaxing breaths.
