Law of Attraction in Business
Thank you, Earl Nightingale.
Virtually all successful entrepreneurs I know apply law of attraction in business, in one form or another, women as well as men. However, I am compelled to give credit where credit is due on the matter of The Strangest Secret, by Earl Nightingale.
A business colleague of mine shared Earl Nightingale’s famous recording of The Strangest Secret with me in the late eighties. Earl achieved massive success by using healthy positive thinking mental habits, with the law of attraction at the core of his philosophy. I listened to it on cassette countless times, gaining new insights each time.
Earl is famous for the many deeply inspiring truths he spoke of on that recording. However, with the business world at the time unaccustomed to hearing leaders speak of such a spiritual concept, the most controversial and most powerful of those is the following:
We become what we think about.
Sound familiar? Don’t be surprised if you find his teachings to be in sync with The Secret, modern positive psychology or success theory taught in your MBA courses. The thread of the same truth runs through them all. Personally, his teachings helped me in my parenting, health, career and business ventures, and all aspects of my personal life as a woman on a mission.
What I love most about Earl Nightingale’s The Strangest Secret and its application as a principle for law of attraction in business, is that he tells it like it is. No genies. No magic manifestations without effort. Yes, he does allude to the amazing occurrences of things, people and events that will show up along the way. However, he backs it up with the fact that you must have a goal, and take action towards that goal, all the while creating instead of competing. So perfect for women interested in applying law of attraction in business!
As I applied his ideas, and those of other masters such as Catherine Ponder, I experienced the fact that the secret to attracting less of what I did not want, and more of what I did want was:
When I clearly decided what I wanted, and applied my energy, attention and focus to it, all the while maintaining a feeling that I knew it would eventually come to be, I certainly did attract what I wanted, or something very much like it, and often better!
Through my research into positive psychology, many years of teaching, facilitating and leadership, I developed a simple, realistic and effective 2-Step Law of Attraction formula:
DECIDE + ENERGIZE (all the while KNOWING) = Attraction
I wrote about it in Attract It. Beyond Positive thinking.
