You can not listen to this music without feeling hope, joy and authentic happiness.Born to Peruvian parents in Sudbury, ON, Patricia Cano began a career in the arts in dance followed by theatre, and later, in music on the international stage, including Paris, Korea, Canada the US. The first important artistic partnership in her life is that which she shares with Tomson Highway. She has toured the world with Tomson, Cree author, playwright, composer extraordinaire, performing songs from his plays. In August 2009, they premiered a brand new Cree cabaret and, already, the touring has begun. The second collaboration of great importance for Patricia's artistic career is that which began in January 2003, when she joined the Parisian-based theatre company, Le Théâtre du Soleil. She worked four years with Jean-Jacques Lemêtre, the world-famous musicien du theater as well as with Ariane Mnouchkine, a living legend of world theatre! With this company, Patricia toured even further around the globe, studying art forms from many different world traditions, like Sri Lankan Dance, Korean traditional dance, drumming and singing! She spent three months in Seoul, South Korean, studying Minyo and Pansori (two traditional forms of song) and has participated in two Korean Drum Festival/Competitions! For This is The New World, and other current work, Patricia's main artistic collaborator is Carlos Bernardo from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. They met in Paris and then, years later, in Rio where they performed a show at the Botanical Gardens. The show was a success and the collaborative feeling and force was undeniably strong and unique! Law of attraction music, at its best. The have delighted audiences at the Sudbury Northern Lights Festival Boreal, and other venues, concerts and, ultimately, their first album recording! And here it is! This is the New World is Patricia's first album, and it was born out of her collaboration with Carlos Bernardo, and recently, with Luisito Orbegoso -- a Toronto percussion player sans pareil who produced the album as well as arranged most of the songs! In November 2009, they launched the album in Sudbury, Hamilton, Toronto and Thunder Bay, to packed houses! The response so far is incredible and the feeling is delicious! Audiences come away re-energized about their own hopes and dreams, and the discovery that law of attraction music can change the world.
