Letting Go of Guilt. Women and Guilt Series

In part two, we looked at letting go of guilt letting-go-of-guilt by Getting Specific, Re-defining, and the importance of taking a break from it all when exploring difficult issues of self. Recap. The goal is to: say goodbye to painful and incapacitating feelings of shame, embarrassment, blame, regret and hyper responsibility. Now let’s energize the decision to think differently, and change this pattern for good.(1)

Confront the Beast with Healthy Positive Thinking Phrases, effective in letting go of guilt. It is now time for you to take the bull by the horns. This time, using your notebook, ask yourself one question: What are the fears and irrational beliefs that have prevented me from letting go of guilt until this point?

Are you ready to undo years of low self-esteem over useless guilt?

Begin a daily practice of A-Statements and Affirmations. This is not a program. Rather, it is a healthy approach to life through your thought habits, including positive thinking phrases designed for women. It may take a constant conscious focus for 30 days to get this habit ingrained. You may have to repeat the conscious period of focus several times to create the new habit. Use a calendar. (2)

Letting go of Guilt: Visualized Visualize, daily, you letting go of guilt by literally letting go of it. Create a mental scene like this one. Get creative.

Imagine a massive, heavy balloon is attached to your ankle. Until now, you were led to believe you were stuck with it for life. The balloon’s main features are shame and guilt. One day, because you are brilliant, you have an AHA Moment, and realize that all you have to do is pull one string, and the balloon will float away forever!. You pull the string, and watch in amazement as your letting go of guilt powers now take precedent as one of your amazing gifts to yourself. Practice this exercise at bedtime just before sleep, frequently.

Sedona Method For those of you familiar with the Sedona Method, you will note the similarities in feeling, the freedom aspects which are in sync with law of attraction here. See here for my article on the Sedona Method.

Positive Thinking Phrases The following should become part of your mental self talk, and are in A-Statement form first. As you become more confident, use the Affirmation form.(3) Always practice happy feelings simultaneously: smile, with eyes crinkled. Walk briskly or dance. Snap your fingers - get excited, get the endorphins going.

A-Statement: I was an innocent child, a little girl who deserved a happy, healthy, nurturing, carefree childhood. Every woman who has ever been born, and who ever will be, makes mistakes, some small, some more serious. I am forgiving myself for my mistakes and bad choices. I am in the process of solving long standing issues. I feel a sense of freedom growing within me. I know I am attracting a more joyful, peaceful, caring inner thought life. I also know that this road I am on is attracting wonderful helpful people, happy events and good things into my life. I am grateful to have come to this point, and for all the abundant goodness now before me.

Affirmation: I feel freedom. I am free. I am more joyful. I feel peaceful, and caring towards myself and others, in a balanced, healthy way. I have wonderful helpful people, happy events and good things in my life, more are on their way. I am grateful for all the abundant goodness I have and deserve.

It is a Journey. It is a process, an exhilarating journey. to free oneself from the shackles of guilt. Strategies such as the positive focus in law of attraction skills, healthy positive thinking phrases and visualization, as well as the Sedona Method have helped countless women to let go of guilt and live the life they were meant to live.
