Up The Love Your Job Factor
... and watch what happens.

First of all, you may not be able to love your job

love-your-job all of the time, and guess what? That really is not the secret for dramatically increasing the pleasure you get from the work you currently do. A few key points I have found in my research and work with a variety of staff and clients:

A. The Love Your Job Continuum. Most people fall into a spot somewhere on the following continuum of how they feel about their work:

1. Tolerate it

2. Like it

3. Love it

4. Love their job, and it supports the lifestyle they want

B. Everyone else is not miserable. Though counter-intuitive to number one above, even those who do not love their job are not wallowing about in self pity, desperately seeking a new job. People tell me that they find a measure of satisfaction in a variety of factors with regard to even work they really dislike. These factors include:

1. Reasonable, good or even high levels of salary

2. Others, clients, patients, colleagues giving them positive feedback

3. Acknowledgment that others in the world have much more dire circumstances

4. Hope or knowledge that the displeasing aspects will end at some point

Is is worth seeking a Love Your Job attitude? Absolutely. Here are three of what I feel are the most important reasons why, for women especially:

1. It will increase your personal wellness level

2. The probability of your financial success improving is increased

3. Most mysterious of these three: the more you love your job, the more you seem to attract people, events, and material benefits you did not have when you did not.

This brings us to law of attraction concepts, and moving yourself towards my Number 4, on The Love Your Job Continuum. How can you kick start this reality? Here are my Top 3 Tips:

1. Use the number one law of attraction habit, known by many labels, and proven to work in many positive psychology studies: Re-frame how you see your work. Literally. One method I teach is as follows: First, get a clear image in your mind, in a picture frame on the left side of your brain, of the element of your job you are most unhappy with. Next, create a new image, on the right side of your brain, in a more attractive picture frame, of that issue somehow being improved, more pleasant, or you smiling and feeling ok, or even pleased by it or the completion of it. The most challenging part of this exercise is creating the new image. Now that you have a new mental image, which we now know your brain recognizes as real, begin to pull it up frequently.

2. Make a new, clear Decision about the workday you intend to have, and use this new Intention on a daily basis, as you prepare to begin your day. Make it in movie scene form, or narrative text in your mind, whatever works for you to get and maintain more frequently, new, pleasant feelings about your work.

3. Focus on doing your current job better. Why? Several positive results tumble down from your increased performance. Personal satisfaction. Positive feedback from supervisors, co-workers, clients, contractors. Hope. Increased endorphins. Etc.
