Sell Your Own Home… Times 3 !

Property #1: In the late eighties, I had purchased a fixer-upper in a beautiful neighborhood. My daughters and I enjoyed living there. However, as all single moms know, money making ideas can not be ignored. I had decided to complete the renovations, and sell the home for a profit, in order to buy a larger, newer home in the same neighborhood. Against the dire warnings of real estate agents, I decided to sell it privately. I prepared my home for viewing, and advertised in the local paper, with the date of my open house. I gave this project a lot of positive attention, energy and focus, and kept my thoughts optimistic. One agent who was aiming to list the property for me, warned that I would have trouble selling it because of its age, and that I would be lucky to get $119,000 for it. I needed to sell it for $125,000 to meet my financial plan for the next purchase. I sold it on the day of my first and only open house. The buyer literally stepped into the foyer, and said,

I’m buying your house. Please don’t show it to any one else!

By the end of the day, I had two offers, and sold it for my asking price, $125,000.

Property #2: Years later, it was time to move on, as I had met my future husband, and wedding bells were ringing. With one daughter out of the nest, and the other finishing university, I was ready to sell again. In the list of money making ideas I had kept as a single mom, this one was obvious. I made the decision, put my energy attention and focus on the sale. This time, we were in a buyer’s market, and I needed all the help I could get. I followed the same process, advertising on my own, visualizing it sold, making notes about the end result I wanted, and soon had an appointment to show the property. Disappointed that the couple did not show up, I was surprised by a knock at the door. Another couple happened to drive by at the time of the no-show appointment, knocked on the door, and asked if they could see the house immediately. I invited them in, and as soon as they stepped into the entrance, the woman declared,

It’s perfect! We’re buying it. Please don’t show it to anyone else. And it was sold.

Property #3: My husband and I purchased our first home together, a quaint country cottage in a rural area. We renovated and upgraded it, with the intent to sell it and purchase a larger home in the city, close to our families and our lakeside cottage. We had a fixed amount we intended to get for it. We wrote this figure down, with a statement like 88 River Drive – Sold! For $150,000! We talked about how easy it would be to sell it, though rural properties in our area typically took about one year to sell. Money making ideas were often the topic of conversation. We had a web site prepared, which I had spent a lot of time working on – a great visualizing, Energizing strategy. We had not even advertised it or uploaded the web site yet, when my mother-in-law called us because she heard a friend of a friend of friend’s son might be interested. The young couple who turned out to be perfect for this property. They quickly came over, and fell in love with the home. The deal was closed in 3 days, for the asking price.

Co-incidence? ... nope ... just the Law Of Attraction aligned with some great creative ways to make money which any woman can do.
