Controversy exists around current, popular representation of thinking skills previously taught and used by a select few in the positive psychology field. The increased awareness around law of attraction is part of that controversy. This concern is well founded, and in fact, there are specific mental skills or strengths you must use, and changes you must make, to create a better life for yourself. A well-known psychiatrist caring for one of my clients counsels the client in exactly that way, and I know for a fact that this psychiatrist is exploring current writings on the law of attraction.
