Penny's Amazing Weight Loss Story
People struggling with self image and obesity know that positive thinking is healthy. However, don’t you get a little irritated with people who never seem to have a negative thought? A little TLC may be in order for all of us. Penny’s * story, published here for the first time, is one of the most inspiring, realistic ones I have heard. Read on. *Not her real name. Penny came to one of my Women. Choose Your Thoughts – Change Your Life ™ seminars, and quietly participated, not saying much to anyone else who was there. A dark-haired beauty with a quick smile, I really did not know anything about what she was looking for, or trying to change. I thought she was already a success story. She had career success, a beautiful home, great kids. I knew she had been morbidly obese at one point, and thought she was where she wanted to be on that issue now. I had that impression because she was skilled at consciously applying healthy non-verbal and vocabulary techniques to improve her self-image. She seemed happy, cheerful, smiled appropriately, dressed well, and was beautifully groomed. She stayed at the end of the seminar, as often happens, and shared with me the following. She in fact still had close to 100 pounds to shed in order to achieve her healthy weight – amazingly well camouflaged by her clothing, beauty and style techniques. She had reached a plateau and needed to move forward. She confided in me that her self image was holding her back. I was astonished, as Penny is a stunningly beautiful woman. She said that even so, in her mind, and in her mirror, she was still seeing the morbidly obese body she used to live in. A consistently positive self image still eluded her. Over the course of one year, and using healthy realistic positive thinking, as well as law of attraction techniques from
Attract It
and the workshop, combined with a faithful daily exercise and a healthy eating regime, she is now close to reaching her goal. Men are approaching her like never before. I can't believe it's me they are attracted to, she says! She is borrowing her teen aged daughter’s clothes, and is happier than she has ever been. What law of attraction strategies did she use for her Self Image issues? 1. She used more positive vocabulary than before, also known as NLP. 2. She practiced visualization, with images specific to her issues, her body, her feelings. 3. She continued to present a positive outward attitude most of the time even when she did not feel like it. 4. She re-visited her weight loss Decisions to be as specific as possible (Clarity). 5. She Energized her Decisions with several techniques, including positive thinking while exercising, and buying a WI, which makes exercise fun (ensuring good feelings). 6. She revved up her de-programming of previous negative messaging from childhood, using A-Statements, and some affirmations. Penny is a spectacular success story, and a testament to the effectiveness of self help techniques like law of attraction, healthy realistic positive thinking and NLP, for improving self-image and obesity issues.
