Wondering Why You are Still Seeking Your Soulmate?Ahhh... the Soulmate Search. Well ladies, this is an area where tons of evidence exists around the successful application of the law of attraction or healthy positive thinking to finding a partner. Yes, that is my wonderful husband and I, circa 2002, I in my 40's, he 10 years younger, just married in Jamaica. From Single to Married to my Soulmate. I had been single for 13 years, raising my daughters while climbing the health care career ladder. I was rather enjoying the dating scene, yet yearned to settle down with my ideal life partner. Having had a few serious boyfriends, made some less-than-ideal choices, and having kissed enough frogs, I Decided it was time to find the right man for me, and enjoy a happy married life. Having experimented with positive thinking and goal-setting strategies for some time, I was in fact using the law of attraction without realizing it. I did use what I knew then as affirmations for life goals however, with varying degrees of success. Seeking a way to find my future husband, I Decided to make a cassette recording using positive statements about what I wanted. I used Baroque music for the background, and with headphones on, I relaxed in my room, usually lying down, and listened to it every day at least once. I included a visual scene in my thoughts, where my future husband was on a road, walking towards me. My affirmations included ones about how he would be with me, how he would respect and cherish me, be faithful and fun to be with, healthy, and how he would enjoy and care about my family. I wanted someone I could be myself with, barefaced, in sickness and in health. I do not remember the affirmations I used and I don't remember actually using the term soulmate. In my home, I hung artwork that depicted happy couples and men cherishing women in a loving, adoring and respectful way. Knowing the value of putting the right kinds of images in one’s field of everyday vision, I had deliberately chosen these prints. Manifestation: I had been planning to attend an annual lakeside party at a friend’s beautiful summer home in Sheguindah, on Manitoulin Island. A girlfriend who was supposed to come with me backed out and I had no intention of going alone. My friend the host however, insisted I come and talked me into going. No sooner was I settled on the deck, feeling a little out of place, when a small plane piloted by another friend of mine landed at dockside. In what I later recognized as classic law of attraction, out stepped John, soon to be the love of my life, guitar in hand. Having been genetically blessed with a good singing voice, I have been singing since my mother taught me to sing the Tennessee Waltz at the age of five. I did not however, play any instrument at the time, and thought, Well, at least there is someone here now I can sing with. But then…the moment I met John, there was a powerful attraction. The chemistry was there. Little did I know that chemistry was due to him being my soulmate! After all, he was 11 years younger than I was and I had had my fill of dating younger men. I soon learned he had all the qualities I had been thinking and asking about in my recorded tape. All the laws of attraction were aligned here, and were married at a beautiful resort in Jamaica 2 ˝ years later and are now living happily ever after.
