Wallace Wattles -The Science of Getting Rich

Law of Attraction and Manifestation. Women looking within for solutions to problems, are following our time's most significant megatrend, the application of mind body soul concepts in real life. In over 20 years of research into this megatrend, teaching, personal reading and writing included, I actually did not come across this man's work until someone suggested I see The Secret(1) DVD.

No Secrets. No Genies Wallace Wattles book, or essay, as some refer to it, is a wealth of classic healthy positive thinking strategy, and not in the least suggesting lamps, genies, crystals and fairies. He adamantly lays out that one must do something and act in the direction of one's goals, as well as do the visualization.

Some of my feminist friends may feel his writings are chauvinistic. However, if you look between the Man this, and the Man that, you see that he is simply writing through the vocabulary of his time. If he were alive today, I am quite sure he would be a most liberated and supportive philosopher, much in the vein of Potts and Hayden, the male writers of Sex and War, another excellent book I recommend.

(1) I did watch it, and noted that a short reference is to his work is embedded in the first segment. In fact, it would be to the viewers' advantage if the producers would have been more clear about it, and delved into his philosophy a bit more, in my opinion.
